“This Program Was a Blessing,” WorkBC Assistive Technology Services Helps Jo-Anne Get Hearing Aids
Jo-Anne works as the head merchandiser at a pharmacy in Invermere, and she helps out on the till when needed. In May, she had an illness which affected her hearing, something she is still recovering from.
“Because of the nerve damage, [problems with] balance, and hearing loss of my right ear, it has made my job difficult,” she shares.
Her technician at her hearing clinic referred her to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services for help getting hearing aids.
“This program was a blessing. I could not afford the cost of hearing aids. With your assistance I now have hearing aids which are helping huge,” she says. “I now can hear customers ask me questions, it is helping with the ringing in my ears, and many more aspects.”
Jo-Anne says she “definitely” recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services.
“I can now hear staff and customers with more clarity, making my job more enjoyable,” she says.
“I would just like to thank everyone who walked me through this process. You have changed my life.”
WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
