“Such a Positive Experience,” WorkBC Assistive Technology Services Helps Lilibeth Get the Hearing Aids She Needs for Work
Lilibeth works as an outreach coordinator for an organization that provides medical and dental aid to remote areas in the Philippines. She has hearing loss.
“Hearing accurately and well is crucial for my job as I need to coordinate many moving parts, agencies, [and] people to ensure our outreaches are successful,” she says.
Her audiologist at HearingLife referred her to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services for funding for a set of hearing aids. She applied, and was quickly approved, allowing her to get the hearing aids she needed for work.
“The hearing aids helped me to hear accurately so I can perform my duties well,” she shares. “I have become more confident in performing my duties. Instead of guessing what people are saying, I can now be part of the conversation. I am able to contribute to the discussions and problem solving. [It’s a] less stressful work environment.”
Lilibeth recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others in need.
“Thank you to [WorkBC Assistive Technology Services staff] for making the process so easy and painless. Really appreciate [their] understanding of my situation and the promptness of [their] replies. Thank you so much,” she says. “Such a positive experience.”
