“[I’m] Much Happier, I Enjoy Working So Much More Now”
Bradley works as a rehab equipment sales rep in New Westminster, helping clients and therapists find the right equipment for mobility, safety, and quality of life.
As an incomplete paraplegic with a T8, T9 spinal cord injury, he brings a vast knowledge and personal experience to his work.
“Without the proper equipment for my mobility I couldn’t do the job,” he explains.
However, the process of commuting to and from work was causing him pain, having to lift his wheelchair in and out of his vehicle for the past 25 years.
A co-worker recommended he try WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to find a solution and he applied.
Bradley received a conversion kit for his new van, which included a side folding lift, powered seat, and hand controls.
“I am not in as much pain,” he says. “Transfers are so much easier. At days end I am not wiped out.”
He “100 percent” recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others in need.
“[I’m] much happier, I enjoy working so much more now,” Bradley says. “[I’m] just glad that such a program exists.”
WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
