New Hearing Aids Allow Douglas to Do His Job Safely

Douglas is employed as a Marine Field Research Scientist on Vancouver Island, working from small vessels conducting research on marine birds and their prey.
“Hearing loss requires me to use hearing aids in the field for safety reasons,” he shares.
His audiologist referred him to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services for help getting a new set of hearing aids. He applied, and in no time, received the hearing aids he needs to do his job.
“I received financial support for hearing aids,” Douglas explains. “[Now] I can conduct the field research which is fundamental to my job.”
Douglas is grateful for the help he received, and says he would recommend WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others in need.
WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
