Jean-Luc works as a ramp agent at an airport. His job involves loading and unloading planes, and communicating with pilots to dispatch airplanes safely and efficiently.

“I am hard of hearing in both ears,” he shares. “This can make hearing speech in loud environments at the airport difficult.”

His audiologist referred him to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services for help getting the hearing aids he needs for work. Jean-Luc applied and was quickly approved.

“The program provided funds to assist me in purchasing a set of hearing aids,” he explains.

The hearing aids have made a big difference on the job.

“[The] hearing aids greatly improve my ability to communicate with co-workers, as well as being a necessity for safety in the fast-moving environment I work in,” he says.

Jean-Luc says he recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others, praising the service he received.

“It was surprisingly easy to apply, and the application process was very quick and thorough.”
